Dish #1 Crab Sukkein
Ingredients
(For Pood-Powder)
Red Chillies - 10
Coriander seeds – 1 Table spoon
Jeera Seeds – ½ T Spoon
Mustard Seeds – ½ T Spoon
Black Pepper – ½ T Spoon
Turmeric Powder – 1 T Spoon
Boiled Rice – 1 T Spoon
Split Bengal Gram (Chana Dal) – 1 T Spoon
Split Black Gram (Urad Dal) – 1 T Spoon
Curry Leaves – 2 Pods
Roast All the above and make a fine powder and keep aside.
Other Ingredients:
Crabs – 4 to 5
Onion Chopped – 1 Big
Tomato chopped – 1 Big
Crushed Garlic – 4 to 5 cloves
Coconut Oil - 3 Table Spoon
Scrapped Coconut – ½
Tamarind – 1 marble stone
Coriander leaf for Garnish and Salt as per taste
Method:
In a vessel heat coconut oil and add the crushed Garlic and fry till slight golden and then add Bay leaves.
Add onions and fry till translucent.
Add tomatoes and fry for 2 minutes.
Add the Crabs, tamarind water and salt as per taste.
Mix well and cover a lid over it and allow it to boil for 10 minutes.
Now add the coconut and powdered Masala (Pood) and mix well.
Cook for 2 more minutes and switch off the flame and garnish it with coriander leave.
